Review of the 2011-12 Season

I'm new to the oneBoro forum so I don't know if this has been done already but I have compiled my very own review of Boro's 2011-12 season on my blog.

http://stevosboroblog.wordpress.com/2012...on-review/

Hopefully this will stir up some debate and everyone can give their own thoughts on what I've written as well as what they think about Boro's 2011-12 campaign.
Craig Gordon

Saw a few days ago Craig Gordon has left Sunderland.

Could he do a job at the boro?
Football League Show

just seen on the mfc facebook page that a deal has been done for the FLS to be shown on BBC for the next three years.

good or bad?

could another channell have done a better job?
Champions League Final

Who's watching this one then? Wonder if this thread will beat the Europa league thread! Tongue

Whats everyones verdict?

I'm going for a 2-1 win to Bayern, possibly after extra time.

Robben and Gomez, Drogba for Chelsea.
Team GB warm up game... ticket info?

Anyone know anything about when the tickets will go on sale & how much they'll be? Will there be any preferential treatment for season card holders?

They could very well have already all sold out for all I know...
Championship 2012-13 Wide open

Here are the list of Championship teams next season:

Barnsley
Birmingham
Blackburn
Blackpool
Bolton
Brighton
Bristol City
Burnley
Cardiff
Charlton
Crystal Palace
Derby
Hull - No manager at present
Ipswich
Middlesbrough
Millwall
Leeds
Leicester
Nottingham Forest
Peterborough
Sheffield Wednesday
Watford
Wolves

Plus one of:
Sheffield United or Huddersfield.

No teams look clear favourites to dominate or be in the relegation hunt. This could be the closest ever Championship.

My main concern with all those clubs looking almost equal is that if we don't have a good transfer window, we could be in serious trouble if we lose a couple of our better players.
Nicky Bailey To Be Sold?

We all know that Nicky Bailey had an excellent season and IF he didnt get injured we could have possibly been in the play offs or even better, gaining automatic promotion (That we will never know).

Now given that he was a star player for us and recently won the OneBoro poll as player of the season dont you think it is strange that he has not been offered a new contract by the club ? Is this a sign of a club looking to cash in on one of our best players to balance the books yet again?

Didnt we do that when we sold Luke Young because we had a nice offer from Aston Villa? then we went and bought Justin Hoyte who was on paper a cheaper option (at the time) but yet we ended up getting relegated.

We all know that players like McDonald and Thomson are earning great money at Boro, and are on wages that the club cannot really afford but how on earth can we get rid of them when one of them is injured the majority of the time and the other earns too much for a Championship quality player, even a Premiership club would struggle to justify his wages.

So Boro being Boro will look at off loading another player to fill that financial hole they may have in their ever decreasing budget. Now if Rhys is sold the fans go mad,and why would you sell your leading goal scorer so that rules out Emnes going because that would be madness, Why would we sell Juke? He hasnt exactly set the world alight but he hasnt been at the club for too long. Bennett? Mogga believes he can make him into a very good left back and sell him for more down the line.

I know who to sell, let's say goodbye to Nicky Bailey.Clubs have shown interest in him, he only has 1 year left on his deal which we havent extended,May be we could even make out that he didnt want to sign one and thats why he had to move him on. I'm sure the Boro fans will believe that.

Also to ease a bit of the pain for the Boro fans lets get the club linked to lots of potential new signings to get them all excited and may be they wont notice that the ginger warrior has left.

Sorry, but the above could be the truth, and as time goes by it will become reality. If so how would you feel?
Who would you like to see leave?

Their are quite a few opinions about who should be leaving this Summer dotted about the place in different threads and as it may well be the case that we need to sell to improve the squad for our promotion push next year who out of our saleable assets would you like to see gone.

I have only included those who I feel we would get a decent wedge for.

McDonald for me.
Rise from the Ashes - Documentary about Boro 86

This documentary has been posted by Matty Brown on You Tube , it is all about Boro's near death experience in 1986.

Its a great watch with some brilliant music and video clips plus interviews.

I hope this gets circulated to all Boro fans, young and old.

Please note that it is in 3 parts.
