Antonio Barragan joins Middlesbrough

Barragan joins Boro on a three-year deal after signing from Valencia.

Antonio Barragan, the 29-year-old defender, has joined Boro from Valencia on a three-year deal. Barragan becomes Aitor Karanka's sixth signing of the summer after Viktor Fischer, Bernardo Espinosa, Marten de Roon, Victor Valdes, and Jordan McGhee all joined the club.

On the arrival of Barragan, Aitor Karanka said "he is a player we know a lot about and he is a good addition to the squad."

"He is a good lad, and he has played a lot of games for Valencia."

"I am really pleased he has signed, he knows this country as well because he was at Liverpool as a young player."
