'Nottingham Forest v Boro - Opposition Preview'

Middlesbrough FC travel to the City Ground on Saturday to face Nottingham Forest, with Britt Assombalonga facing his former club for the first time since his move to Boro.

We spoke to Nottingham Forest fan @infromthetrent about the summer break at Forest, expectations about the new season and the upcoming Boro game.

"It's been the biggest summer I can remember at the club, obviously with the takeover etc. We were desperate for a new start, a clean slate if you like, and that's exactly how it feels."

"Surviving on the last day last term was a wake up call, a few signings just wasn't going to make a dramatic difference with regards quality on the pitch. Everyone knows the manager needs time to build something here. So far, so good, you can already see progress has been made."

Speaking about their results so far, @infromthetrent said "it could be worse. 2 league wins a league defeat and a win in the first round of the league cup. I think we were lucky to take anything from the opening game against Millwall."

"I can't believe how we didn't take anything away from Barnsley on Tuesday night. We're scoring goals but leaky at the back. There's still work to be done but I'm sure we will get it right."

"We have a decent squad. More than capable of a top half finish beyond if we're optimistic. One of the summer signings has caught my eye the most, Barrie McKay from Rangers. He's got magic in his boots. An absolute steel for £500k. He's one to look out for!"

"The manager changed things towards the end of the first half at Barnsley and it seemed to have a big impact, I think he'll start the game now the Barnsley defeat finished. But I'm not giving that away!"

Score Prediction

I think we acknowledge and accept Saturday's going to be tough for us. Given your fire power and not to mention the £15m man you've signed from us. But I suspect there's been some hard work on the training ground this week and I couldn't ever back against my team so I'll have to go for a 2-2 draw!
