Dean Smith Provides Update On Villa Team News

“He’s still got a little bit of swelling in the ankle so he’ll be struggling for Saturday”, said Aston Villa boss Dean Smith about Albert Adomah.

As for James McGinn, who played 70 minutes in Villa’s 5-5 thriller against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, Smith told the press that the player is still recovering from the injury he had sustained prior to the game.

“He came through the game (against Forest). We’re still treating him as an injured player, even though he played 70 odd minutes until he hit the wall.”

“It was a bit of a risk to play him, but I thought it was a risk worth taking with three games in six days and only three fit midfielders, excluding John McGinn because he was injured at the time."
