According to reports, Albert Adomah is the most recent player to have been ruled out of Villa’s game at the Riverside Stadium this weekend.

Another player who could join Adomah on the sidelines is John McGinn, as the club will have to make a late decision on whether or not to include the central midfielder in their starting XI at the weekend.

Apart from both these players, Villa have three more player on the injury table – including central midfielder Henri Lansbury, defensive midfielder Mile Jedinak and 20-year-old defender James Bree.

Dean Smith Provides Update On Villa Team News

“He’s still got a little bit of swelling in the ankle so he’ll be struggling for Saturday”, said Aston Villa boss Dean Smith about Albert Adomah.

As for James McGinn, who played 70 minutes in Villa’s 5-5 thriller against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, Smith told the press that the player is still recovering from the injury he had sustained prior to the game.

“He came through the game (against Forest). We’re still treating him as an injured player, even though he played 70 odd minutes until he hit the wall.”

“It was a bit of a risk to play him, but I thought it was a risk worth taking with three games in six days and only three fit midfielders, excluding John McGinn because he was injured at the time."
