'Boro express an interest in Dutch defender'

Reports suggest Middlesbrough FC are eying up a move for the 22-year-old Dutch defender.

Middlesbrough FC have today been linked with a loan move for Crystal Palace defender Jairo Riedewald.

The 22-year-old has failed to impress at Palace, having a signed a five year contract for them in July 2017.

Jairo Riedewald hasn't played a Premier League game this season, and the Eagles are looking to move on a number of player to make way for new signings.

The former Ajax defender has options to return to Holland, whilst Fenerbahce were strongly linked with a move for the player in November 2018. There is also interest from Spanish and French clubs, while Boro are reportedly the only English club expressing an interest in the player.

Capable of playing at centre-half, left-back or as a defensive midfielder, Riedewald has won three international caps for Holland, making his international debut against Turkey.

Before joining Palace, he played 93 times for Ajax, scoring three goals and securing one Eredivise title.
