Boro Share Points With Arsenal

Adam Johnson started for Boro as they drew 1-1 with Arsenal. Former Gunner Jeremie Aliadiere scored for Boro with a fine header.

Emmanuel Adebayor had put the visitors ahead after 17 minutes. The goal came from a corner which was poorly defended by Robert Huth, who was making his first start after coming back from injury.

Tony McMahon and Adam Johnson looked strong down the right side for Boro as they pushed for an equaliser. McMahon made his first start for Middlesbrough FC this season after coming back from a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday FC.

Boro's equiliser came through Jeremie Aliadiere. Tuncay fired a fine cross into the Arsenal box and Aliadiere superbly glanced his header past Almunia.

Boro had a strong penalty appeal turned down in the 35th minute. Real Madrid targer Adam Johnson was on a fine run when he was tripped by Gael Clichy just inside the Arsenal box. Referee Peter Walton waved play on.
