Boro Slip To 3-0 Defeat
Boro lost 3-0 away to Fulham FC today. Jimmy Bullard opened the scoring, a dodgy penalty decision allowed Fulham to make it 2-0 before Clint Dempsey made it 3.
Boro went into the game looking for their first win in 5.
An evenly matched first half produced few chances, until Jimmy Bullard poked in from three yards after Ross Turnbull parried Bobby Zamora's shot.
Danny Murphy made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after referee Keith Stroud harshly ruled Tony McMahon had handled the ball inside the box.
Clint Dempsey rounded off the scoring when he slotted into the right corner from just inside the area.
Gareth Southgate spoke to BBC Sport, "We were not good enough or sharp enough or disciplined enough in the way we defended.
"There was huge decision given against us when we were 1-0 down when they were given a penalty and scored from it.
"We have had three unbelievable decisions against us in the last three weeks.
