'Trio complete moves away from Boro'

Three Boro players have completed moves away from The Riverside Stadium on transfer deadline day.

Firstly, Ste Walker completed a loan move to MK Dons for the remainder of the season. Walker signed a four and a half year deal at Middlesbrough FC earlier this week and as part of his development will join the League Two team in search of game time.

MK Dons manager Paul Tisdale said, “Stephen is a young, talented attacking player. We’ve spoken in-depth with Middlesbrough about him and they are more than happy for us to take him on loan so he can continue his development with us.”

The England Under-19 internationalhas impressed throughout the Boro academy teams and made his first team debut in the League Cup victory over Notts County and also made an appearance in the FA Cup 5-0 win against Peterborough United.

The next player to depart Boro is Hayden Coulson. The 20-year-old left-sidedplayer is capable in both defensive and in midfield roles and has joined Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season.

Coulson developed through the Boro academy since the age of 12 and has represented England at U16, U17 and U18 level. He spent the early stages of the current League season in the Scottish Premier League for St Mirren, making 11 appearances and scoring one goal.

Cambridge UnitedHead Coach said “Hayden has a good delivery, good speed and can dribble well with possession of the ball. He adds competition to the wide areas which allows us to make changes to personnel whilst maintaining pace within our front line.”

Finally, George Miller has made a permanent move to League One outfit Barnsley.

Miller had been on a season-long loan with Bradford City from Boro, and with a three way agreement in place, Miller will remain at Bradford City whilst becoming a permanent Barnsley player.

The 20-year-old striker joined Boro from Bury in 2017 for a reported £600,000. He had a spell on loan at Wrexham, along with a return to Bury and finally with Bradford.

He has scored 6goals in 32 appearances for Bradford and is looking forward to his move to Oakwell.

“It’s an exciting move, I’m buzzing to get it done, it’s a move I am really pleased with. Bradford have been my priority this season, I’ve tried to give it everything there but when a club like Barnsley come in for you, it is really, really exciting.”

He went on to say “I’ll continue to give it 100% at Bradford like I have done and hopefully get even more game time, but I will of course be checking Barnsley results and watching matches when I can.”

“Hopefully both teams can have the end to the season they want, I want to come back here as a Championship player, I’ve played against this team, there is some real quality and I know they are capable of getting promoted.”
